John Summerscales is Professor of Composites Engineering at the University of Plymouth, and is a Chartered Engineer, Chartered Environmentalist and Chartered Scientist.
He has Higher Education qualifications from the universities at Cardiff, Greenwich, and Plymouth. After doing post-doc with Ministry of Defence (Navy),
he became an inaugural member of the Advanced Composites Manufacturing Centre (ACMC). His research interests focus on manufacturing, sustainability and materials characterisation.
He was awarded the IOM3 Leslie Holliday Prize 2023.
